Embracing Indigenous Heritage: Unveiling the Path to Inclusive Communities

At Alpha HPA, we believe that understanding and respecting cultural heritage is crucial in building strong and inclusive communities. That’s why we are thrilled to share our management team’s recent participation in the Cultural Heritage Awareness Training, a transformative experience that deepened our knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous history and culture.

Through a dedicated collaboration with the Port Curtis Coral Coast Trust (PCCC), we had the privilege of learning from Nick Maclean, PCCC’s Cultural Heritage Manager, who guided us on this enlightening journey. His expertise and passion brought Indigenous heritage to life, encouraging us to explore the significance of connection to country, land, and sea.

We were honoured to have Uncle Shayne Blackman, an elder from the Gladstone Region, join us for the training and guide us on the journey. Uncle Shayne’s captivating yarns shared a wealth of wisdom, highlighting the profound connection between people and place. His presence added an authentic touch to our immersive experience on Auckland Hill, leaving a lasting impression on our team.

The Cultural Heritage Awareness Training has not only deepened our understanding but has also reaffirmed our commitment to responsible engagement with Indigenous communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and forge meaningful connections based on mutual respect and appreciation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nick MacLean, Uncle Shayne Blackman, and the entire PCCC team for their collaboration, knowledge, and unwavering support throughout this enlightening journey. Together, we continue to foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and cultural preservation.
